Android 14: check the Samsung cell phone update calendar

Samsung started making the stable version of the One UI 6 with Android 14 on October 31st. With this, becoming the second manufacturer to offer the most recent version of the operating system. Initially, only premium models were included, but the brand released a preview of other phones that will be updated.

Galaxy smartphones will have more lock screen customization options, new emojis and a new default system font. There are also new weather and camera widgets, a renewed appearance in quick settings and the ability to change the wallpaper based on the time.

Automatic blocking of unknown applications, more accessibility features and improvements to the photo gallery are others One UI 6 highlights. The interface also has native access to access keys for passwordless logins and the Knox Matrix platform.

Other new features of Android 14 on Samsung cell phones are UltraHDR support and flash notifications and sharing menu changes. Suggested editing tools for photos and layered editing in videos are also available.

Update of Samsung cell phones in Brazil

In November, Samsung announced the One UI 6 update with Android for Latin America. The company stated, in a note to the TecMundo:

“One UI 6 will begin updating in Latin America in December with the Galaxy S23 series. The update for other Galaxy products will follow the roll out, where applicable, until early 2024.”

After the announcement, Samsung released, in early December, the One UI 6 update with Android 14 only for Galaxy S23 line phones sold in Brazil. Little by little, other models of the brand are receiving the patch. Are they:

Which Samsung phones will not update?

Generally, It is likely that Samsung Galaxy phones released in the last two years will be updated to Android 14, just like tablets. Some older models, with advanced hardware, should also be considered.

On the other hand, versions like Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G will not receive One UI 6as the company stated after a leak.
