Dragon Ball Sparking Zero may arrive without a feature loved by fans

Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi was one of fighting games most acclaimed films of the PlayStation 2 era in the 2000s. Dragon Ball Sparking Zerowas revealed in March 2023, leaving fans with many expectations.

However, it seems that the new game in the line will not have a feature that is very popular with the community. The infamous local multiplayer with split screen may be left out of the new game in the franchise.

The absence of local multiplayer ended up being confirmed by Bandai Namco through the game's page on platforms such as PS Store, Steam and the official website itself. Reportedly, the game It will be an experience for just one player offline and for two in online multiplayer.

Why won't Dragon Ball Sparking Zero have local multiplayer?

In a channel broadcast Sofian Le Geekthe producer of DBZ Sparking Zero, Jun Furutani, spoke about various aspects of the sequel. He explains that the absence of local multiplayer would be due to Sony and Microsoft policieswhich would be making it difficult to implement the feature to supposedly favor sales of the PS5 and Xbox Series S and X.

According to Furutani, the functionality is still being negotiated, but there is some resistance from Sony and Microsoft regarding this.
