In a channel broadcast Sofian Le Geekthe producer of DBZ Sparking Zero, Jun Furutani, spoke about various aspects of the sequel. So far, it is unclear whether this decision is, in fact, permanent. — even more so considering that it is one of the most loved features by fans who played the classics.

According to Furutani, the functionality is still being negotiated, but there is some resistance from Sony and Microsoft regarding this. The statement is at least curious, considering that the 2021 GOTY, It Takes Twocan be played in local split-screen co-op. Baldur's Gate 3winner of the award in 2023, also has the solution.

For those who don't remember, local multiplayer DBZ Tenkaichi it divided the screen into two parts, giving each player a better sense of space on the maps — which were very large and full of good places to position themselves in fights.
