Galaxy S24: everything about Samsung's new premium, AI-powered phones

The new family of devices is made up of three devices: the Galaxy S24, which is the most basic and conventional version; O Galaxy S24+, bigger and with some improvements; and the Galaxy S24 Ultrawhich is the elite device of this generation.

In addition to specific hardware improvements compared to previous smartphones in the Galaxy S23 line, the new devices feature artificial intelligence (AI) features in particular. The functions, routines and platforms built into devices are part of what is now known as Galaxy AI.

Galaxy S24

The Galaxy S24 is the most compact smartphone in the range, both in weight and dimensions. The body of the device is made of aluminum alloy, with IP68 standard waterproofing.

Furthermore, it still has top-of-the-line technical specifications, but they are more modest than other devices. This includes the RAM (8 GB) and the battery, which has a capacity of 4,000 mah and a maximum 25W wired recharge.

The screen, in turn, is a 6.2-inch Full HD+ panel with a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It includes the HDR10+ content reproduction standard, accompanied by two speakers.

The processor is the Exynos 2400, the current most advanced chip manufactured by Samsung itself. This is a 64-bit deca-core component, made on the 4 nm architecture and with cores up to 3.2 GHz.

The operating system is Android 14 under the One UI 6.1which is the current version of Samsung’s custom interface.

The Galaxy S24’s camera array includes a 50 MP main sensor with Dual Pixel autofocus and optical image stabilization. It is accompanied by a 12 MP ultra-wide sensor with a 120º field of view and a 10 MP telephoto lens.

This is what allows you to zoom in up to 3 times without loss of image quality. The front camera is the same across the entire trio of cell phones: a 12 Mp sensor with f/2.2 and Dual Pixel autofocus.

As with other devices in the line, the Galaxy S24 supports 5G, 4G, Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 7 connectivitywhich is the current most advanced wireless internet standard.

The device also has some of Samsung’s own functions that are shared with the other models. An example is the security system Samsung Knoxin addition to resources such as Secure Folder and the Focus Mode. Until then Gorilla Glass Victus there is still a filter that reduces exposure to blue light.

Galaxy S24+

O Galaxy S24+ It is the model positioned in the middle of the cell phone family. It has many of the same features as the Galaxy S24, but is superior in other aspects. On the other hand, it is aimed at those who are not as demanding for an elite experience, as is the case with the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The cell phone has larger dimensions and a screen that expands to 6.7 inches, also gaining in resolution (QHD+ instead of Full HD+). It also has a greater amount of RAM (12 GB) and a battery with high energy storage capacity (4,900 mAh) with support for a more powerful charger.

The camera scheme is the same as the Galaxy S24. It is formed by a 50 MP main sensor with Dual Pixel autofocus and optical image stabilization. It is accompanied by a 12 MP ultra-wide sensor with a 120º field of view and a 10 MP telephoto lens.

Just like the conventional S24, this device also includes an aluminum alloy body with IP68 waterproof certification.

Galaxy S24 Ultra

Finally, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is the largest and most powerful model presented by Samsung in the current generation. Unlike the previous two cell phones, it has a titanium finish — just like the iPhone 15 Pro — which makes the device lighter, while remaining resistant.

This is also the only model of the trio that comes with an S Pen, the special pen for drawing, notes and navigation. The screen increases to 6.8 inches and, mainly due to the more advanced camera set, the thickness is also the largest among the line.

Here, the processor is also different: the chip from the next Samsung comes out and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the current top-of-the-line component from Qualcomm, comes in. It is a 4 nm octa-core chip, with cores up to 3.9 Ghz.

In terms of cameras, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has Samsung’s most complex and advanced set currently. O main sensor is 200 MP, with optical stabilizer and 85º field of view. It is accompanied by a ultra-wide sensor (12 MP) and two telephoto lenses.

One of them has 50 MP and 5 times optical zoomwhile the other is from 10 MP and features 3 times optical zoom. This means that you can zoom in on objects in the photo or video without significant loss of quality.

The 5,000 mAh battery can be recharged wired or wirelessly and, using the official 45W power supply, the device reaches 65% charge in half an hour. However, Samsung only sells the charger separately and no longer includes the accessory in the box.

Availability

The Galaxy S24 line is available in Cobalt Violet (violet), Amber Yellow (yellow), Onix Black (black), Marble Gray (gray), Jade Green (green), Sapphire Blue (blue) and Sandstone Orange (orange).
