There is a lot of talk regarding the iPhone 6. This phone promised a larger display and better features, which it delivered, but it is hard to miss the similarities between the iPhone 6 and Android phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy series and the Nexus 4. Android users can’t help but get a kick out of the new features the iPhone 6 has that Androids have had for two years! With the iPhone 6 the Apple attitude seems to be better late than never.

Marketing & Technology

When the first iPhone was released in June of 2007, it was the hottest piece of mobile technology around. The iPhone had the best features; the camera was superb, and everyone had to have one. As years passed, Android phone reputations began to exceed the iPhone, and Apple found themselves playing catch up with the iPhone 6.

Kudos Web design, Manchester, have seen this shift. “Our customers used to come to us asking for iPhone and iPad apps. Now they want Android as top of the list. Their priorities have changed with the market growth towards Andriod.

Since 2007, the iPhone added colour with the iPhone 5 and with the iPhone 5s, but that iPhone 6 seems to be a regurgitation of Android phones that were released two years ago.

What’s New with the iPhone 6?

The iPhone 6 has new features that are exciting to the world of Apple, but not revolutionary to the Android world. The iPhone 6 is 4.7 inches long. If you want a bigger display, the iPhone 6 Plus offers a mega screen that measures 5.5 inches; only a few inches shy of a mini tablet. The display is an improvement from the previous iPhone. The camera of the iPhone 6 has been upgraded from previous models. The design of the iPhone 6 offers a thinner profilewith curved edges, with frames that are made from metal and glass. The screen resolution of the iPhone 6 is 1334×750. Once again, if you want more screen, the iPhone 6 Plus offers 920×1080 resolution. The iPhone 6 has the standard storage options of 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB.

The iPhone 6 is Singing the Same Song

No one is taking the iPhone 6 positives away from Apple, but it’s not a complete revolutionised victory. The first feature that consumers notice is the larger display screen, which is nothing new to Android users. Another feature that’s unimpressive is the eight megapixel camera, again nothing new for Android users. As far as the screen resolution, the iPhone 6 finally catches up with Android and offers a better resolution than the majority of flagship Android models. When it comes to storage, Apple is just now catching up to the storage Android phones have offered consumers for years. The price of the iPhone 6 is as always at the top premium end of the market. Only the somewhat un-fancied iPhone 5S has broken this trend.

Apple had planned to headline the iPhone 6 with the Watch Tie-In, but Android beat them to it some time ago with the Android Wear Smart Watch. Apple struggles to get ahead of Android with the iOS 8 software that allows iPhone 6 users to browse their files in the iCloud, but once again, Google presented this feature years ago with Google Drive.

Only 1 Advantage over the Others

The unique feature the iPhone 6 has is fingerprint technology. The iPhone 6 features touch ID which is a fingerprint-recognition software that enables iPhone 6 users to unlock their phone conveniently with their unique fingerprint instead of setting a four-digit pin or passcode. Touch ID gives iOS users the ability to make purchases without the hassle of entering the card number, expiration date, and CVV number of their credit or debit card.

More to Come in the Future

The year 2016 promises a lot for iOS users. Wireless charging, split-screen applications and water resistance are features iPhone users can look forward to in the future, but all features that Android users are already familiar with.Mobile phone technology of the future looks set to be driven by companies other than Apple, unless they start pushing a bit faster.
