New rumors indicate that budget version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 could be launched soon
More evidence of Samsung's future foldable cell phone appeared on the internet recently. O WinFuture discovered that the company has a codename in a database that could refer to a more affordable variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
The news indicates that the company is discussing the next generation of devices with three codenames: “Q6”, “B6” and “Q6A”. While the first two nicknames must refer to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 (sequences of the codenames “Q5” and “B5” used in 2023 foldables), the “Q6A” appears to be an unreleased model.

The information was obtained from component import and export databases. On the list, the codename “Q6A” has been present since November 2023.
No other information was anticipated by the news, but the existence of an extra codename increases the suspicion that Samsung plans to launch another foldable cell phone in 2024. The model could be a cheaper version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Another indication that reinforces this possibility is the use of “A” in the nickname. The Galaxy A family of cell phones is known for being a line of cheaper devices, focused on delivering a better balance between cost and benefit.
For now, however, the information is just rumors. There is no concrete data on Samsung's next foldable launch.
Even if Samsung launches a more affordable foldable cell phone, it likely won't be as cheap as traditional models. The construction of a foldable device is much more complex than a common device, requiring a much more delicate manufacturing process.
Given the evolution of hardware, it is possible that the manufacturer will launch a cheaper Galaxy Z Fold 6, but these differences would be in the technical sheet — less powerful chipset, screen and cameras, for example. The hinge and structure would still be quite refined.
