True Detective: Night Land is linked to the first season of the series
During the second chapter of True Detective: Night Land, which aired last Sunday (21), fans noticed that the spiral symbol that appeared several times during the series' debut season appeared on screen again. If you don't remember, in the first episodes of the work, starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, the symbol in question was used to represent the cult of the King in Yellow, responsible for several deaths and atrocities.
In Night Land, we see that the character Annie K had the same spiral symbol tattooed on her back and, four days after her death, Clark had the same figure tattooed on his chest. The narrative also reveals that detectives Navarro (Kali Reis) and Danvers (Jodie Foster) discovered a huge spiral painted on the roof of Annie and Clark's van, indicating that the two were linked to the infamous cult explored during the first season of True Detective.
Therefore, Night Land establishes a powerful connection to the initial season of True Detective, which continues to be the series of episodes most praised and celebrated by fans of the project. Many have already speculated, in fact, that the 4th season of the series would be a direct sequel to the 1st season. However, this has not yet been officially confirmed. We will need to look a little deeper to know how the timeline develops.
However, it is undeniable that the connection between the seasons is certain and that this has already excited many viewers! Now all that’s left is to wait for new episodes of the series, which is getting new chapters every Sunday on HBO Max.
