How to use the security and locking options in the Neffos X1
Neffos presented at the beginning of the year the Neffos X1 an economic device with very interesting benefits, which we were able to analyze. This device features a metallic, glass front design and specifications such as eight-core Media tack processor, fingerprint reader, and Android Nougat.
It also includes very interesting software options such as some gestures on the screen, the possibility of adding a floating button or different accessibility options. However, the Neffos X1 has other options related to device security and locking. This is partly to the fingerprint reader. Next, we will show you what you can do and how to use them.
Without a doubt, the best option to be able to unlock our device is through the fingerprint reader. This is used in a multitude of devices, and is the safest form, since our fingerprint is unique. The Neffos X1 allows us to register up to five fingerprints. Its configuration is very simple we will only have to go to settings – Security Lock – Fingerprints. There we can configure unlock by means of the fingerprint and add it.
Not only can we use the fingerprint to unlock the device. It also allows us to take a picture by pressing the fingerprint reader on the camera. In addition, we can block applications to enter with our fingerprint. For example, we can block the application of calls so that only we can enter.
Smart Lock came with Android 5.0 to ensure better protection in our device this feature allows us a more intuitive release, with different options to ensure the user greater ease when unlocking the device. By adjusting different parameters, the terminal will be unlocked automatically, without the need to enter a pin, pattern, password or the fingerprint reader. The Neffos X1 incorporates this feature with different options for automatic unlocking.
Body Detection: This option allows us to keep the device unlocked while you carry it, either in your pocket or in your hand. When the Smartphone detects that we have left it in a different place, it will be blocked and will ask for the option of blocking that we have configured previously.
Trusted sites: This option is very similar to body detection. In this case, (and with the help of GPS) we can configure different location points, such as our home or our workplace. When the device detects that it is in that location, it will remain unlocked. If the device detects that you have left the location, you will be prompted to unlock the device manually.
For example, we may ask you to add our Smart Watch as a trusted device, when paired the device will remain unlocked. Once you lose the connection, we will ask for the unlock method that we have configured. We can also add a Bluetooth speaker or our headphones as trusted devices.
Unlock by voice: Last but not least. We can also unlock our device using the famous ‘Ok Google’. We just have to say it aloud a couple of times for the mobile to recognize our voice. Then we can unlock it this way.
