CD Projekt reveals new features for Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2

The developer CD Projekt RED released some news about his next two projects. Games are sequences of The Witcher It is Cyberpunk 2077.

The person who revealed the updates was the developer's CEO, Adam Badowski, in an interview with the Reuters news agency. Both projects are still in the very early stages of production and have not even been officially announced by the producer.

For now unofficially called The Witcher 4, the game is the studio's next major project. The idea, according to Badowski, is that around 400 people are working on the title until mid-2024.

In November 2023, according to another interview with a company executive, this team already consisted of almost 330 people.

Internally called Polaris, the new The Witcher will be the beginning of a new trilogy in the franchise, which is based on the literary works of Andrzej Sapkowski. The franchise has also been adapted into a series by Netflix and has been renewed until the fifth season.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the last numbered and main game in the series, came out in 2015 and got two major expansions: Hearts of Stone It is Blood and Wine. Additionally, it spawned a spin-off: the card game Gwent: The Witcher Card Game.

According to Reuters, The estimate is that the next The Witcher will be released between 2026 and 2027. However, this is not official information, as CD Projekt RED is not yet talking about the title.

New Cyberpunk 2077

The second CD Projekt RED project discussed by Badowski in the interview is the continuation of the most recent game in the franchise, Cyberpunk 2077.

The title is codenamed Orion and, by the end of 2024, it will already have a team of 80 people focused on your development. For now, he remains in conceptual definition phase and should only come out after the next The Witcher.

For the sequence, the CEO commented that the company “I was considering including multiplayer elements“. However, he did not elaborate on the matter or confirm whether the appeals will actually be adopted.

Furthermore, Badowski confirmed that the company set up a team to evaluate artificial intelligence (AI) resources and define how they can help human employees in some of the production processes.
